SLMA Joins Associations in Asking for COVID-19 Liability Protection

Last week, SLMA joined hundreds of trade associations from around the country that represent industries that have been deemed essential by the Department of Homeland Security in asking Congress to protect manufacturers from COVID-19 related lawsuits. The letter highlights the inconsistent and evolving guidelines that federal and state agencies have published regarding the virus, and asks that the essential industries that are trying to comply with safety protocols be protected from frivolous lawsuits. This will be one of the issues discussed by Congress as the House and Senate negotiate further legislative action regarding COVID-19.
